Catching up..... part one

Okay... so I suck as a blogger.

It's hard for me to just sit down and put my thoughts out there. Especially since I know that not a lot of people are going to read them.... or care to read them.

I am going to post when things happen to me, maybe that way I can get into it. We have several things coming up this year and our lives have been dramatically changed in the last year and a half since I blogged so I think it's time for an update.

2010 was crazy. Andrew's job at Waddell and Reed wasn't going well. Our marriage was rocky. We were financially strained. Things were CRAZY! However, when God shuts a door he always opens a window. And the window he opened for us was a huge, front window, the kind that has a large window seat under it!!

Andrew started working for Morgan Stanley at the end of October and thus began the journey back to life as normal as we knew it.

Morgan Stanley is an amazing company!! They care about their employees, they invest in their employees, they TRAIN their employees! This job, that wasn't even avaliable, that wasn't even an opening.. has been truly God sent.

Because of this new job we are getting out of debt. We are looking to move into a rental home. We are even planning a trip back to Canada to see Andrew's parents and to see his oldest brother get married.

It's amazing to me how simple having the right job, a good job can be. Being that I am a stay at home mom and that we have made that decision and that Andrew supports that decision, it's important that he make a good living and now it seems like he is.

We are truly blessed as a family. There just isn't enough praising to God that I can do for all the good that he has given to me. So in light of that I will post more often this year to be a witness to all those around me that God does move among us.

Spring time

I personally am a summer baby. I love summer. Even when it's hot. Doesn't bother me that much at all. But lately I have been looking around and noticing that spring isn't too bad. EXCEPT for now. Today it didn't get over 60 and it was raining and yucky. I would love to know what the heck happened to global warming today!!!!

I guess it's a trade off living here in Texas that we really only have 2 or 2 1/2 seasons. Summer, winter, and I guess you could call the other sort of season fring! Because let's face it we don't have a real spring and we don't have a real fall.

Of course none of this really matters, I am just shooting my mouth off tonight. Just wanted to rant about the cold weather because poor Mabel has to stay here at the house with me all the time and we look so forward to the days when we can go outside with the dogs and play and today just was not one of those days.

It also sucks because the electric companies are charging an arm and a leg and your first born to send electricity to your house so we have to be in a cold house because I cannot justify turning the heater on for one day!!!! What the heck man!!

PPPFFFFFF... whatta gonna do?!?!?!?

2009!!!!

Wow, how fast time flies! 2009 already. So much is already happening. My very best friend is pregnant with twins! A wonderful couple that we know at church is pregnant with a little boy! My husband's finicial advisor job is starting to hit an upswing. And in a few days we start potty training wtih little Miss Mabel!

It's amazing how much time can elapse before you realize it. I am grateful for all that I have and all that I have been through in the last few month. I am hoping that 2009 brings tons more great moments for me and everyone around me.

To anyone that reads this, I wish you a very happy new years and look forward to what is to come!!!

CRAZY!!!!

That's how our lives feel right now... CRAZY!!!

Andrew is working all the time between his new job, coaching and still doing eBay. Mabel is growing up so fast, she is into everything and really starting to talk more in a way that we can all understand her. And I am much more involved in church and family and everything that the days seem to zip by me.

A really good friend of mine is graduating today, it just seems like yesterday that she started on her second bachelors and now here it is three years later and boom, she is done!!!

Another friend of mine is working on starting a family and it just seems like yesterday that she was getting married and that was over a year ago.

My own daughter just turned two last month and it feels like it was just a few months ago that we brought her home.

I mean where is the time going??? It really makes me realized that I have to slow down just a little bit and enjoy the moments I can because time really is fleeting!

I hope I can savor these moments and I hope that I can help others do the same.

Happy Holidays

I was sitting here checking my email while my husband ran to Wal-mart to get a cable that we needed to finish rearranging our living room for the Christmas decorations and I got to thinking...

I am really grateful this year for everything that I have and everyone that I know and love. I don't think I have ever been as grateful as I am this year.

With Andrew starting the new job and us not having a lot of money we could be bitter. Instead I look around and realize I have a husband that is willing to run errands when I don't feel like it. A daughter that keeps me laughing. Dogs that love me no matter what. A roof over my head, good food to eat and most of all family that is supportive.

I am very blessed and this holiday season is going to be wonderful because I get to see Christmas through a child's eyes again! How wonderful.

I hope anyone that reads this knows that I thank God for them often and want them to have a wonderful December and wonderful times this Holiday season!!!!
